COTD - The Magician (Housewives' Tarot & Ferret Tarot)

The Magician on the Housewives' Tarot looks like an expert salesman. He can help you find that amazing washing machine that will magically make your whites whiter and your colors brighter. He can help you find a kitchen appliance that will make bread or slice and dice your produce or make your dishes spot free. He is a magical man that can promise to help you find exactly the right appliance to suit your needs. Of course the catch is that what he actually provides you may do more for his bottom line than for yours.
The adorable ferret on The Ferret Tarot's Magician looks focused and intent. He may be whimsical about some things, but this task he is very serious about this task. His energies are fine-tuned to accomplish his goal. He is determined to keep those balls of energy spinning and twirling.
In both cards there is a similar theme - focus, determination and drive can help you achieve your goals. The Magician sales man on the Housewives' Tarot is bound and determined to sell you an appliance. All of his energy is focused on accomplishing this task. And he will do it because his will is strong and he knows how to work his magic on you. That is the key to a good salesperson - the determination, drive and focus to sell something to a customer. A good salesperson also makes sure that the customers needs are being met, an unethical salesperson just wants to make the sale.
The ferret shows that we can create our own energy and sparks in life if we are willing to take the time and focus. I realize that I often find it challenging to achieve goals because I get so scattered and distracted. Instead of trying to master one task at time, I am like a hamster running from this task to that task. As a result I don't lose interest in any task but I also don't achieve much. I can make a "To Do" list but when it comes to making and achieving long term goals. I think that is the important message for me here. I need to chose one or two goals and focus my energy on achieving them. Once they are done I can move on to other endeavors but if I don't focus my energies then I'll never achieve the goals I truly desire, at least not any time soon.
