COTD - 4 of Wands (Deviant Moon & Halloween Tarot)

The number 4 represents stability, practical attainment, and dependability.  It represents manifesting plans into reality; making your dreams come true.  Wands are usually associated with the element of fire, inspiration, energy, passion, feeling, enterprise, ambition, matters pertaining to the "spark of life".  They can refer to the growth and awareness of the self.  Wands are focused on discovering your true self, apart from others.  The 4 of Wands can also indicate that now is the time to act on your sense of direction and knowing who you are.  This is your chance to publicly claim your identity and manifest this identity with the public.  You are making a clear statement about who you are.

Actually the only thing I made a clear statement about today was that I needed a mental health day.  I took a sick day from work and spent the day with my hubby.  Looking at the Deviant Moon 4 of Wands I was struck by the image of the cozy little shack sitting atop 4 posts with a couple staring into each other's eyes in the foreground.  There is something very intimate and caring about the connection between the two.  They are not only looking into each other's eyes but they are also touching each other.  Their hands are joined and a vine is wound around them, as if port of a ritual uniting the two.

That is sort of how hubby and I spent the day.  We just sort of snuggled together and talked or watched television.  Sometimes we napped, when one of us got sleepy others time we joked around.  We were cocooned in our own personal world and didn't let the outside world intrude.  It was really a wonderful day.  Lately we are both so pulled in different directions - me with school, training, work and professional organizations and him with work, family obligations and home repair issues, that we often don't get to focus on each other.  Today was a day for us to just focus on each other and it was wonderful.  It was cold, gray and gloomy outside but cozy and comfy inside.

I am truly lucky to be in a relationship with a man that I still love deeply and who still loves me.  We are very different in some ways and very similar in others.  We have a shared foundation and history.  We both understand where the other comes from and yet we still have the opportunity to learn from each other.  Every so often we'll get to spend time together and we manage to learn something new about each other.

Overall it was a wonderful day with a special man and I'm glad I had the opportunity to enjoy it.
