COTD - Knight of Pentacles (Secret & Healing Tarot)

The Knight of Pentacles can represent a focus that is too narrow; the need to develop greater breadth of vision; experimenting with imaginative problem-solving techniques; lethargy, lack of discipline; inability to make plans, limited vision; irresponsibility, especially when it comes to carrying out assignments. Knights symbolize protection, strength, ambition and questing. Pentacles are associated with the material world, acquisitions of wealth and possessions, our connection to Earth and Nature, sensation, matters pertaining to the physical plane and the element of earth. Pentacles can also be connected with practicality, groundedness and being realistic.
Once again my Knight shows up. I think the Knight of Pentacles is one of my favorite knights - reliable, stable and determined with just enough fire and passion to keep things interesting.
I think the lethargy and limited vision I've had in the past are clearing away. I still have some issues with regards to discipline - putting off to tomorrow what should have been done today. But as I feel my energy rising and my enthusiasm growing I think that will clear up too. I think the Knight of Pentacles is a sign that I need to be more practical and realistic in my future plans. It's time to move away from the hopes and dreams stage and get to the do stage. I've got to harness that energy and find a way to nurture and protect it. I almost view the earth energies as a the receptacle that allows the fire to burn in safety. Although the fire needs air to grow, I've always thought it needs a safe earthen pit in which to burn. And in turn the fire hardens the earth and makes it more durable. In fact that's also how I've always viewed my marriage - a balance of earth and fire.
On a personal note, I can't wait for Thanksgiving. I love the time of year from just before Halloween to Thanksgiving. They're simple celebrations; time of being with friends and family with no obligation to buy gifts or anything. Of course my family holidays were always a bloody mess with my grandmother and father at each other's throats. Despite that I have fond memories of Thanksgiving day - sitting in the living and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and then King Kong, Son of Kong and Might Joe Young. Smelling the wonderful aroma of turkey roasting and eagerly awaiting my first taste of mom's stuffing. Even if there were fights those weren't my primary memories of Thanksgiving (unlike Christmas). It was all about family, food and fun. And then on Friday, while we all recovered from the Thanksgiving feast we would enjoy the Godzilla marathon on Channel 9. I love Thanksgiving.
