Having a very lazy Tuesday - Prince/Knight of Pentacles (Enchanted & Celtic)

The Knight of Pentacles can represent a focus that is too narrow; the need to develop greater breadth of vision; experimenting with imaginative problem-solving techniques; lethargy, lack of discipline; inability to make plans, limited vision; irresponsibility, especially when it comes to carrying out assignments.  Knights symbolize protection, strength, ambition and questing.  Pentacles are associated with the material world, acquisitions of wealth and possessions, our connection to Earth and Nature, sensation, matters pertaining to the physical plane and the element of earth. Pentacles can also be connected with practicality, groundedness and being realistic.

The Enchanted Prince of Pentacles is astride his proudly prancing stallion blowing a horn as he passes near a large tree.  The top of the tree is made up of one large leaf.  Additional leaves adorn the sky overhead.  A star is attached to the tip of the horn.  There is a sense of celebration and pride in the card.  The Prince of Pentacles seem to be blowing his own horn, trumpeting his accomplishments after returning from a victorious quest.  Perhaps he has found what he was looking for in his quest and now wants to share his findings with all who can hear him.

The Celtic Knight of Pentacles is a well-muscled elf wearing a horned helmet setting astride a dragon.  The elf holds a gold shield adorned with a triskele on his left arm.  The dragon's head is bent down almost meeting his tail.  He almost appears to be sleeping.  The sickly, acid green color of the sky behind the knight gives me the sense that a mighty battle has been fought that has left toxic fumes and energies in the air behind it.  The knight and his mount seem unconcerned; the danger is passed.  Perhaps the knight is offering the shield as a trophy from a successful battle.  It is a symbol of his achievement.

The usually fiery, aggressive energy I associate with the knights is muted in these cards.  Whatever quest on which they are engaged has either not occurred yet or has been achieved.  Is this knight taking his time and making a plan before taking a specific course of action?  Or perhaps he has seen the successful completion of his task; the achievement of his goals.

I think the message of the Knight of Pentacles is that I need to start making some concrete plans but that I shouldn't get so focused and caught up in the planning that I never actually implement the plans.  It's time to manifest all those goals and dreams.  Actually to be perfectly honest it's time to create a real plan of action.  I talk a good game but sometimes I talk too much and don't actually take the steps necessary to manifest all these great ideas.  I've been doing it for years with my desire to become a paid professional Tarot reader.  I may have the skills and even the personality to be effective but unless I come up with a strategy for making this a reality, it's a pipe dream.  Pipe dreams can be fun to talk about late at night over a few drinks but they're not going to help me.  I guess the bottom line is that it's time to put my money where my mouth is and actually do something.  Sheesh, what a concept.
