Don't charge into the fray: QOTD - What is my lesson for the day? Knight of Swords R (Vikings & Romanian Dream)

Swords are associated with reason, thought, logic, will, courage, verbal skill, matters pertaining to the mind and survival in the world and the element of air. Knights represent pure energy, focused and active, protection, strength, ambition and questing. This is the warrior knight, the Templar knight, who fought for ideals and beliefs. He is a fierce fighter but is cautious to plan well before he enters battle. He prefers strategy over bloodshed. He represents courage and youthful energy.  I see this card as representing you - youthful, energetic, full of confidence but also intelligent and able to communicate well - someone who can slay dragons if necessary.

Gail Fairfield:  Being deeply committed to acting out your philosophical ideals in your daily lifestyle; getting so caught up in your daily routine that everything else recedes in importance; being completely focused on your intellect and using mind and ideas; having a strong desire to express what you think and being intent on communicating those ideas to others.

Janina Renee:  You need to be your own advocate.  You are urged to take a stand on an idea or cause that's important to you, or on an issue or situation that has major impact on your life.  This card advises you to take timely action to intervene in a crisis.  This is not a time for doubt or hesitation.  Don't wait around in hope that someone else will do the job.  This card may also signify a need to confront someone regarding the matter in question.  You should arm yourself by being well prepared, so have all of your facts straight.  This confrontation may also require having all of your paperwork in order.

MacGregor & Vega:  This card addresses the need for both a mental and physical show of strength.  It represents a brave and aggressive young man who is prepared to defend his beliefs.  You're focused on making your point.  Although you're a superb communicator, you usually act on your opinions rather than talking them to death.  You can be headstrong and overly aggressive, given to speaking out to freely and telling people where to get off.  Your impatience works against you.  Slow down, take time to process what's going one, listen to your heart, not your head.  Cultivate perfect faith that what you need will be provided before you need it.  Be careful what you wish for.

I drew the Knight of Swords (or more accurately the Prince of Swords) last Thursday.  Obviously I am not done with this energy yet.  It's interesting but none of the books I referred to actually helped me with this card.  I don't think I am at a place of being headstrong and over aggressive (of course I never think I'm behaving that way).  Listening to my heart and not my head is sometimes easier said than done but at the same time I don't think I've been over-intellectualizing anything lately.

One way I can see this card applying to me right now is that I've been reading voraciously lately.  I'm devouring books at a rapid pace.  I used to be able to do that but over the last few years I haven't been able to focus on anything beyond what I had to read for school or work.  I might read a self-help book or two but even then I didn't focus on it with the same intensity.  Being unemployed has allowed me to regain that focus and dive into books as if they were a decadent chocolate cake.  That's something I'm grateful for and appreciate.
