Focsing on reaching the clouds - What do I need to focus on today?-} Ace of Swords (Wheel of Change & Motherpeace)

Aces symbolize beginnings, the start of something new and the seed of new growth. Swords represent reason, thought, logic, will, courage, verbal skill, matters pertaining to the mind and survival in the world and the element of air. The Ace of Swords often represents new ideas, new thoughts and concepts; being aware of the potential for a brand new lifestyle direction or schedule.  It could suggest the need or ability to communicate or manifesting your philosophy in a different way.

The Wheel of Change Ace of Swords shows a sword bursting through two triangular shapes, heading through the clouds and towards the sun up at the apogee of the card.  In the swords wake we see lightning and rainbow colored streams of light.  Shooting stars surround the sun sitting at the top of the card.  On the Motherpeace Ace of Swords there is a figure sitting in the lotus position surrounded by a diamond shaped energy field.  A hand holds a sword in front of the figure and we realize that she is perfectly aligned with the sword.  A butterfly fitters around the edge of the energy field.

Both cards offer a sense of focused mental powers and intellect.  We get a sense that the Wheel of Change sword is moving forward at a rapid pace, determined to reach its goal.  Nothing will deter it from its path, not lightning, not shooting stars and not even the beauty of a rainbow.  The figure on the Motherpeace card seems a bit more at ease and less tense but equally focused and determined.  Someone I get the sense that the Wheel of Change Ace of Swords is focused on extrinsic goals while the Motherpeace figure is focused on intrinsic goals.  The Wheel of Change Ace wants the world to see what it has achieved whiled the figure on the Motherpeace card is unconcerned with such external validation.

Once again I get a sense of balance and focus.  Between these two cards I get the sense that I need to focus my own mental powers on achieving my goals (whatever they may be).  I need to use my intellectual gifts and insights with a laser intensity rather than like a flashlight beam.  This is not about illuminating all there is to see; it's about pinpointing a goal and letting nothing deter me from that path.  Something about the Wheel of Change Ace of Swords reminds me of an electric guitar - which is interesting because I am becoming increasingly aware that I receive messages through song lyrics.  For some reason the juxtaposition of these two cards reminds me of Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page - guitar "gods" who combined the passion of their love for guitar with an almost spiritual intensity.  Maybe I need to find a way to embody this in my life.  I need to look for a path that will allow me to feel that divine ecstasy with an level of intellectual passion and satisfaction.  No small task to be sure but something to seriously consider.
