What do I need to focus on today?-} Queen of Wands (Paulina & Metamorphosis)

Queens are associated with inner and personal control, competency, maturity, introspection, self-awareness, nurturance, healing and fulfillment. Wands are usually associated with the element of fire, inspiration, energy, passion, feeling, enterprise, ambition, matters pertaining to the "spark of life". They can refer to the growth and awareness of the self. Wands are focused on discovering your true self, apart from others. The Queen of Wands shows a self-assured, powerful woman. She is confident in her abilities and able to wield her power without beating others, although she is capable of doing this if she must. The Queen of Wands is also very comfortable and at home with her sexual nature, her passionate side that seeks a fiery union in her life.
"You've reached a high level of personal integrity and maturity within the role you're playing. You are clear on who you are and nothing can take that from you. You are self-confident in most all situations. You are content with your general process of growth and you have a sense of continuing development. A feeling of maturity and confidence radiates from you as you function in this role or identity." - Gail Fairfield
"The confident queen's red attire indicates energy and creative passion. The eye on her midriff is her emotional center. The feline creature in the fertile garden indicates independence and courage. Confidence, self-motivation, enthusiasm, determination." - Paulina LWB
"Pragmatic, generous woman. Successful desired metamorphosis." - Metamorphosis LWB
As my alter-ego. My favorite of the Tarot Queens. The Queen of Wands has always been the lady I'm most likely to emulate. I resonate on a deep level with her energy and her qualities - both good and bad. I love her confidence, her spark and her passion for life. I love that she just shrugs it off when she is wrong and moves on to the next project. I love her exuberance and her self-assurance. These are all traits I like to think I possess as well. Of course it's hard for me to be the judge of that because I am biased.
The down side of the Queen of Wands is that she finds it very hard to admit she's wrong. She can also be too over the top. I have come to realize that in myself, this is a sign of my insecurity. I try to bedazzle people with bombast and an explosive personality. Sometimes it works and sometimes I overdo and people begin to avoid me. I can't blame them - sometimes wish I could get away from me when I get like that.
At her best the Queen of Wands is Auntie Mame (one of my all-time favorite movie characters). She is loving, lively and a bit loony but she is never, ever boring. If you are seeking to fit in or conform, then stay away from her. In some ways I think the Queen of Wands shows her over the top side first as a warning to the unwary - rather like a brightly-colored poisonous snake. She is giving you the heads up that this is not going to be a nice, quiet, comfortable relationship. Speaking for myself, the Queen of Wands has often caused me to create situations where I am forced to apologize because I have offended a friend. I often don't care if I offend strangers but I never intentionally hurt friends. Sometimes my blunt and rather opinionated approach to life leads me to say things that hurt feelings or ruffle feathers. To paraphrase an iconic line from the movie Love Story - being a Queen of Wands is often having to say you're sorry.
Despite all these obstacles, I genuinely love the energy of the Queen of Wands. Yes, she is blunt, stubborn and sometimes abrasive, but she is also loyal, compassionate and honest. She finds it difficult to be diplomatic because to her that skates to close to lying. You will always know where you stand with her because she will tell you or is not speaking to you. For better or for worse, the Queen of Wands is like fireworks - bright, brilliant, exciting and sometimes just too damn noisy.
