What message do you have for me today? - 10 of Cups R (Revelations & Full Moon Dream)

The number 10 indicates that something is over but not finished and about to begin again - completion and perfection. Cups are associated with love, happiness, relationships, dreams and the emotional pleasures of life. Traditionally the 10 of Cups symbolizes tranquility, happy family life and achievement of dreams, emotional fulfillment, contentment.
"You've reached a level of security with your psychic work but nothing's changing or growing anymore. You know you need to take some risks and move on but you're not feeling quite ready to do it yet." - Gail Fairfield
How interesting that Gail Fairfield describes this card as representing nothing changing or growing anymore. That ties in with my interpretation of the Death card I drew yesterday. The mermaids on the Revelations 10 of Cups seem sad and somewhat melancholy when the image is reversed. It is as though they have lost something. Perhaps the outcome was not what they hope for find. Maybe they thought they would happiness and joy at the end of the rainbow but instead found only the end. It almost reminds me of the people who feel their lives would be perfect "if only" and then once that "if only" is achieved they realize that wasn't why they were unhappy. For example someone who things their weight is keeping them from finding true love or a job. Then they lose the weight and go a little crazy looking for love only to ultimately realize their weight was never the issue.
Looking at the 10 of Water from the Full Moon Dreams Tarot I am struck by the fact that the watery reflection of the figure becomes more prominent when it is reversed. It's as though the illusion is taking more of our focus then the reality. It distracts us from what is real in this card and prevents us from achieving our goal of emotional fulfillment.
So perhaps the message I need to hear today is not to get distracted and trapped by illusions in an attempt to be happy. I have to learn to be happy with myself and feel emotional fulfillment and joy with who I am now, not with what might be. Dreams are wonderful things to have and it's amazing when they can be fulfilled. But when they become more important than reality it can be a problem. And that is a trap I need to avoid.
